Ashley Wynn began participating with EDSI’s Livonia PATH Program on September 28, 2016. She was already enrolled in school at Schoolcraft College, working toward a degree in Nursing. She entered into her Application Eligibility Period (AEP) motivated to find employment that would lead her to self-sufficiency.

During her AEP, Ashley recognized her need to update and rework her resume. She met with EDSI’s Instructor, Pete Anthony, to complete this task and prepare herself for future interviews. During the meeting they discussed several options that might help her gain experience in the healthcare field. When Ashley learned of a job opening at a local healthcare company, Homestead Home Health Care, she jumped at the opportunity.

Ashley proceeded through the interview process with Homestead, was offered employment and started work on November 11. She requested and received PATH supportive services to purchase suitable work clothing and shoes. As Ashley continues her education in addition to her new employment, she shared with us some words of wisdom: “There will be obstacles, there will be doubters, there will be mistakes, but with hard work there are no limits.” About her experience in the PATH program, Ashley said, “PATH has helped me to be able to attend school while working by helping me build a relevant resume and referring me to jobs that will provide me with experience while I’m studying to obtain my nursing degree. Peter Anthony was a great help with finding my current job, and it couldn't be a better fit for me. I can say that the people at PATH work with you to provide a successful outcome. They offer many necessary tools to help you become independent and self-sufficient.”

EDSI is extremely proud of Ashley’s commitment and progress towards her career goals. We are excited to see where her continued success takes her.
