A Letter from a Thankful Client
Cornelius Davis Sr. shared these kind words of gratitude in a recent letter to EDSI staff at NCWorks in Henderson, NC.
I would like to take some time out to thank the employees at NCWorks of Henderson, NC and in particular, Ms. Sheila Long.
I came to NCWorks unemployed and unsure if I would find employment. Ms. Long sat down with me and helped me carefully map out a plan for a good path to gainful employment.
After carefully gathering some pertinent information, i.e., my strengths/weaknesses and my capabilities, Ms. Long came up with a program that was offering a Commercial Driver’s License and possibly a career in truck driving. I didn’t know if I would be able to complete the training.
Ms. Long made a few phone calls and talked to some people and the next thing I know, I was off to school. The school was great! The instructors were very professional and knowledgeable about their jobs. Mr. and Mrs. Gray, the owners, were a blessing and the nicest people you could ever meet. Mr. Gray was a little tough at times, but only because he wanted to see us all be successful.
Well, I made it through the training and graduated with my Commercial Driver’s License. I also received my fork lift certification on top of that because the school was offering the opportunity to get a fork lift certificate at a discount to drivers already enrolled in school.
Today, almost one month later, I have a pre-hire letter of acceptance to work for a trucking company. I'm not going to say it was the easiest thing to accomplish, but when you have someone who trusts and believes in you as Ms. Long did in me, it makes all the difference.
I want to express my thanks to Ms. Long, NCWorks and all others involved, the Carolina Trucking Academy, Carolina Cargo and my wife and son for supporting me. Most of all, I thank God for giving me the strength and will power to endure to the end.
I may not have the job yet, but I am truly grateful for the help and assistance I received from Ms. Sheila Long and her team at NCWorks.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you and may God bless you.
