Healthcare Career Connections is an eight-week career readiness program for high school graduates to build upon their existing education and prepare for a rewarding career in the healthcare industry.

Once enrolled in the program you will learn about various healthcare career pathways through our Healthcare Career Readiness curriculum that teaches effective communication, workplace professionalism, positive attitude and teamwork, conflict resolution and problem solving, goal setting, networking, professionalism in healthcare, resume development and how to land a maintain a job in the healthcare industry.

Since healthcare careers require higher level math and comprehension skills we will provide academic tutoring in math and reading at no cost to you.

You will also complete four weeks of paid healthcare work experiences, CPR training, HIPPA training, and continued career preparation. During this time, you will be paid $9.00 per hour for 20 hours per week as you continue to prepare to land a job in the healthcare industry.

We can also connect you to healthcare training opportunities that are free/low cost and accept federal student aid.

The Healthcare Career Connections program represents a great opportunity to gain valuable preparation for a career in the medical field.

Requirements

To enter the program you must:

  • Be age 17-21
  • Be a high school graduate (high school diploma or GED is acceptable)
  • Be a Philadelphia resident
  • Pass a drug test
  • Complete the TABE exam
  • Obtain parent/guardian approval if under age 18
