Capital Area Youth Program

EDSI’s Wake County Office provides comprehensive academic and career services to in-school and out-of-school youth. All services are free to the client. Orientations for clients are held Mondays at 1 p.m. This program can provide:

  • Paid Work Experience and Job Leads - EDSI will pay wages directly to the new hire for them to gain valuable hands-on experience with an employer
  • On-the-Job Training
  • Life Skills & Work Readiness Classes
  • Paid Day Care
  • Free GED and Career Readiness Certification
  • Certifications (Medical, Technical, etc.)
  • Jobs in high demand industries
  • Support in dealing with life struggles

Populations served are youth who are:

  • Between 16 and 24 years old
  • Single parents
  • Low income
  • High school graduates
  • Those who dropped out of high school
  • College students
  • Those with criminal backgrounds
  • Those who need help determining their career paths
