About Us
The EDSI/ Reemployment Transition Center (RTC) has been open since 1994, making it the first Reemployment Transition Center that EDSI opened. This office specializes in job placement for an array of clientele, including TANF and SNAP recipients, non-custodial parents and Community College of Allegheny County students who utilized TANF funding. During our years of operation, we have assisted thousands of jobseekers in attaining entry-level, second-tier and third-tier jobs.

Job-readiness workshops are provided to help jobseekers prepare for finding and attaining gainful employment. Jobseekers learn to discuss their past work history and transferable skills, and confidently attend interviews, sell employers on their abilities, gain and retain employment, and begin to achieve self-sufficiency.

Additionally, participants interested in enhancing their skill sets or expanding their field of experience, can engage in hands-on training opportunities through off-site work experiences at non-profit organizations such as food banks, churches, libraries, etc. in Community Service (CS).

In addition to job search/job readiness workshops, the RTC includes workshops on interviewing skills, mock interviewing sessions and our new specialized job skills course, Customer Service Training (CST). CST is a credentialed, 10-module Customer Service Training course, authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services.

Jobseekers gain skills through workshops, training programs and one-on-one sessions with Employment Consultants and Job Developers to receive personalized job leads weekly, with the goal of employment and beginning a career path toward self-sufficiency.
