EDSI joins forces with community partners to spearhead workforce training for the new Nissan Stadium project in Northern Middle Tennessee. As a key player in addressing workforce development needs, EDSI will provide paid work experience opportunities for underserved populations including low-income migrants, justice-involved individuals, veterans, and youth. The initiative, scheduled for completion by the 2027 NFL season, aims to create diverse job opportunities ranging from construction roles to hospitality positions.

In a groundbreaking move, the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) launched Cannabis NYC a visionary project aimed at positioning the city as the worldwide leader in cannabis industry education and equity across business, science, and culture, and is reaching this goal by actively creating an interagency hub of free resources and services for all New Yorkers interested in the cannabis industry.
Our Cannabis Account Manager with the NYC Business Solutions Staten Island Center has been working diligently to assist those interested in starting a cannabis business complete the licensing application, understand rules and regulations, and overcome obstacles to accessing capital for this industry.

Pushing Progress Philly (P3) Violence Intervention Program Continues to Grow

In 2023, EDSI embarked on a significant and purposeful role as the Coordinating Agency for Pushing Progress Philly (P3), a community violence intervention program initiated by the City of Philadelphia. Drawing inspiration from the successful READI program in Chicago, P3 represents a collaborative effort involving the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Criminal Justice and Public Safety, EDSI, and key service partners such as Nicetown CDC, Impact Services, The Ladipo Group, and Black Men Heal.

2023 was a stellar year for awards at EDSI! Thanks to our amazingly talented and dedicated team members who Show Up, Smile and Support across the company, EDSI was recognized as a standout for outstanding company culture by the following: Best and Brightest Companies to Work For In The Nation; Metro Detroit's Best and Brightest Companies to Work For; Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces; Philadelphia Inquirer Top Workplaces.

EDSI was chosen as a Detroit Free Press "Top Workplaces 2023" winner, its 9th year of being recognized. EDSI was ranked in the Top 50 for the small business category and presented with their award at a ceremony at the Royal Oak Music Theater. A special thanks to Instructional Systems Designers Eboney Hurt and Ebani Lowery for attending the event.

The event recognized employers that received the most favorable responses on a 24-question survey issued to their employees. There were a total of 6,698 organizations that participated in the survey. EDSI, among the other companies, was recognized for its commitment to prioritizing life-work balance, inspiring its employees, and fostering a healthy work environment.

Re-Entry Simulation: Northern Middle TN

The Northern Middle TN EDSI team had the opportunity to participate in a re-entry simulation this fall at the Montgomery County AJC. and over 50 participants from various agencies, employers and workforce companies joined the The Department of Labor Office of Re-entry in a simulation of the barriers that justice-involved citizens leaving incarceration may face. Feedback from the event showed a strong request for more simulations like this to be hosted in the future.
